The selection is conducted in two phases:

  • a pre-selection phase, prior to the Workshop, of a maximum of 6 candidates by a selected jury
  • a selection phase of the winner among the 6 candidates through the vote, during the Workshop, of a popular jury composed of all the participants.

The selected jury is made up of 5 members: the President and the Secretary (or their delegates) of the National Coordination Committee of the Research Doctorates, a Federalimentare delegate, 2 researchers, chosen by Federalimentare and by the National Coordination Committee, who have conducted a PhD in “Food Science, Technology and Biotechnology” and are currently working in the field of private research.

The selected jury carries out the pre-selection, through the evaluation by score, of both the written text, which will be published in the Proceedings, and of a video in English of a maximum duration of 2 minutes.

Each member of the jury will have 20 points available, equally divided between the written text and the video. This material must be sent by e-mail to the Organizing Committee no later than June 18, 2019 (the date of receipt of the e-mail), so that the selected jury can complete the evaluation by July 18, 2019. The 6 PhD students who have achieved the highest score will be selected.

The 6 PhD students will present their oral contribution in the plenary session during the Workshop, followed by the video prepared for the pre-selection. At the end of the presentations, each participant in the Workshop will be part of the popular jury and will have 10 points available for the evaluation of the of each single oral report through an application “Mentimeter” on PC and smartphone. The student with the highest score will be the winner.
